Majority of seasonal anime are simulcast these days, get subtitles the day they air in Japan and are streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Amazon Prime, etc. Bots rip the videos with the subs and upload them to torrent trackers on sites like
>>710860 and then some people will take those subs and edit them or remux them with other video if they want, but most people just watch the simulcast stream rips.
The most popular bot is Horriblesubs, rips all the main streaming services, except Netflix, which usually sits on its shows until the season ends, so fansubbers still get a chance to do those, along with the other 1 or 2 shows that don't get simulcasted. If HS is late or frequently fucks up the subs for a show, you can try Erai-raws, they're a similar deal to HS, except they grab all the available languages for subtitles, not just English, when their bot rips a stream. They also upload to Nyaa just like HS does.
