OH so I take it you're in Firefox?

Chrome doesn't have the ability to create context menus. However I'll see if I can write a demo script real fast off the top of my head for FF for example.

Okay so I made my own userscript. Took a little longer than usual because I had to reinstall firefox, install greasemonkey, then actually write the code while learning how contextmenu worked. But I got it working on my own script. When the window loads it just adds a context menu to all the images to make it search saucenao and open up the image in a new tab as well.

I'll post code in a second, something is triggering the spam filter in my code.

Forgot to turn on JS highlighting but oh well. Anyways that's what I did to test that you could actually do it but I only spent like 8 minutes writing the code so I wouldn't use it if I were you. I'm just showing an example.

Wait, so are you OP? Does the script work for PaleMoon?

I might just rewrite the whole fucking thing to be cross compatible to all FF based browsers at this point because the code is so shit. I can't even begin to figure out what it's trying to do there's so many errors it's giving me.

I was able to make it work on firefox (meaning now cross platform) like this. First I console logged to makesure imageURL was a real thing, then I changed it to a `` string and just used window.open() instead of the gay shit palemoon uses seemingly exclusively. This fixed it.

OP, I don't know if you're the creator of this script or not, but if so you should start learning some more modern javascript practices.

For example instead of using strings '' and all those + everywhere, you can now just use `this instead` and add in non-string shit like variables through scope like this `My age is ${age}`

Also learn arrow functions and ternary operators instead of functions and if statement hell.

Also no one uses var anymore, everyone uses let and const now.

...Is the problem you're having the 403 forbidden message?

That has nothing to do with the script. The site itself has an anti-leech code similar to 4chan's (I don't know if we still have it actually) so you can't post it on other sites and whatnot.

I do however think there's a workaround if you managed to make it search the base64 instead of the image url. Does sauce nao allow base64?

If you change the URL from https to just http of the image you're searching it suddenly works for that particular site. Also, it has nothing to do with it being a webp. It's just the anti-leech.

Theoretically, you could add another menu item that automatically makes the URL work as HTTP called (sauce as HTTP) if you chose to do so

In that case can you make me a simple script using the script in the OP (forget the reverse image search) which opens any image in a new background tab with the right-click context menu. i used the script in the OP at hitomi but I get 403 whereas some extensions still work (i dont want to use exttensions). thank you.

The HTTP version gets around anti-leech on that site. It's how I used to get around anti-leech on 4chan.

Basically the HTTP version is just a workaround for you if the normal search doesn't work, it forces the image to be http

okay I made an open image in new tab function. Here it is. It'll add it to the top of your right click. I disabled making it open the image with search but you can turn that back on if you want by crossing out the things where I left notes to cross out. I suppose I could make an open image in new tab HTTP to try opening things without the HTTPS protocol too but this should be good for now.

Window open opens new tab, if you set window.location = whateveryouwanthere.com I believe it'll change it in that tab. Don't quote me on that I haven't actually looked at redirects for javascript in years.

Yeah just tried it. If you wanted to make it open that image in current tab you could do the function of window.location = imageURL; on the bottom.

There's no point though. PM actually has that function already so you can right click and view image. They just don't have a new tab option.
