Intel compute stick problem

So the CMOS battery is dead because I have to set the clock and date every time I power on.
Also audio driver is not working.
Also endlessly downloading and flooding the onboard storage with windows "updates" until nothing works anymore.

But even shitty computers cost 500 dollars U.S. and up... :-(

MiniPCs don't. Ataribox was 220$ and will be 300$ on launch (if it happens). There's plenty of MiniPCs on Gearbest/Aliexpress/eBay/Amazon under 500$. Even costing down to 100-150$, but these won't be better than intel sticks.

Hmmm yeah. I want something better than a mini pc. I have had an ASUS vivomini before but had to scrap it because of heat issues. I want a PC which can use mainstream (full size) parts. Maybe I should build one after all...

There's plenty of budget options. Build a PC with Ryzen 2200G/2400G then wait until you can afford an RX 550/560 or an equivalent GPU. The Ryzen CPUs with integrated graphics aren't half bad and they're cheap. Even if you don't buy used parts you can get a PC for under 500$. See www.logicalincrements.com
The "entry" build should cost around 400$ without an SSD, or cheaper if you use parts you own or buy cheap used parts.

Ok. Yeah I saw a teardown of the stick pc on some website, looked really difficult. Also I need a windows PC to be able to access my files on external HDD.
