Hi /a/. I just watched Aggretsuko which is not a real anime and I loved every bit of it! Can you recommend me an anime like Aggretsuko? If you can't think of one, know that I'm mostly into hacker culture, cyberpunk, sci-fi, computer themes. So no Naruto/Pokemon stuff.

I'm big into sci-fi anime also so I can help you out here

Ghost in the shell (Koukaku Kidoutai 1995) and if you like it Ghost in the Shell Standalone complex

Time of Eve

Steins Gate

Outlaw Star (more action/adventure but with a starship/outlaw space setting)

Cowboy Bebop if you want moody atmospheric but action packed outlaw sci-fi also (heavily recomend dub here it's really good)

Big O (more mech and monster of the week heavy with a lot of western influence but with a post-apoclyp'ish style sci-fi setting. Think Batman meets anime meets domed cities)
Also dunno how new you are but https://nyaa.si/ is generally viewed as the best place to torrent from.

Workplace comedies? Try Servant x Service, Working!, and I guess Africa no Salaryman (airing this season).

Fortunately for you, anime does this particular mesh of genres very well. Ghost in the Shell is an absolute must for you, it's THE cyberpunk anime franchise. Start with either the 1995 film or the 2002 TV anime series Stand Alone Complex. The two don't have directly connected stories, they both loosely adapt the manga as source material but don't directly reference one another, so you can start with either one.

I'd also recommend the following:
Serial Experiments Lain (very trippy and surreal)
Psycho Pass (dystopian sci-fi thriller)
Gunnm, aka Battle Angel Alita (far future cyberpunk)

I recommend anything with satoshi kon on it

I also recommend the 2019 run of fruits basket. The first season just finished up so it's a good time to get into it. It's closer in "feeling" to aggrestuko than my other suggestions which are more somber/depressing/weird but they're sci-fi and lain deals with a 90's idea of a future of computers.

there's also rilakuma on netflix which is very much like aggretsuko.

Same with panty and stocking (Whcih OP should check out if they're not a prude) since it's styled much after american cartoons besides the transformation scenes

I've been watching Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil) as of late. It's fucking amazing and I highly recommend you check it out.

Essentially I'll summarize the plot.

Japanese Salaryman who doesn't believe in god is doing what needs to be done at his job, he fires a dude, the dude pushes him in front of a train, time stops and god ("Being X" and he calls it) tests his faith and essentially tells him that he's going to be reincarnated into a living hell and if he dies there is no 2nd reincarnation. Then he restarts life as a soldier in an alternate 1920's Germany and he essentially got reincarnated as a nazi loli. But it's an isekai so magic exists and Tanya is a fucking expert at it.

If that isn't for ya then just watch Osomatsu-San.

Plot is essentially 6 NEET brothers dick around and try to get jobs. Also it's a gag anime and it's fucking hilarious.
