i bought a samsung 860 evo 500 gb ssd and it shows up in bios and device manager but not in the partition thing or file explorer. ive been trying to get it to work for going on a week now.
ive tried
>diffrent sata cable
>swapped out new power connector
>re-installed windows
>a slower kit of ddr4
>new motherboard
>taking out old hard drive and trying to install windows on it alone.
>diffrent sata ports
>took out gpu
>older cpu
basically everything a pc noob such as myself can think of to get such a trivial thing working
i dont know if this matters but i have an i5 9600k and 1660 not the ti version and a super barebones motherboard. its micro atx but it only has 2 ram slots for my 16 gb of 3000mhz wam. it was only 59 dollars but i had a z270 and i3 7350k and it still didnt show up in that setup either.
im currently using a hard drive made in 2010 that takes over 5 minutes to boot into windows.
i figured id try to get help here since every other forum basically wants your social security number and address.
