What are some anime with memorable male protagonists that have a good character?
I know this is vague, and "good" is subjective, but I'm going through a hard time in life right now, and someone I'm close to suggested I should look for a role model if I want to improve my situation.

So I went through my list of watched anime in search for a character like that, and nothing really stood out to me.
The theme of the anime doesn't really matter too much and it doesn't have to be a 100% match, some strong qualities would be enough. Although I'd prefer if the character in question would act the way they act out of conviction, not because of some plot device.
