German word "ich." Is it pronounced "eesch" or "eehch" or "ihch"? I thought eesch was wrong but I've heard natives say it.

Depends on where you're from. The north germans tend to pronounce most ch sounds as shhh, (eesh), and the central (?) and southerm germans say ihch. I believe that form is also high german (standard german).

Editing my post: The ones who say eesh also tend to turn their s's into t's, as in:

Standard german: "Was ist denn das denn?"
north germans: "watt it denn datt denn?"

No one says it like that.

It's either "Was ist denn das?" or "Was ist das denn?", not both.
