>>755707>is 4chan a well full of hateProbably yes. Hatred is within almost all people and anonymity brings out true feelings without the usual social restraints.
>that should be erased?Probably no. For people who have a firm grasp on reality it is a brilliant outlet to experiment, have fun and just be themselves. But I can see the argument how it's dangerous for people with issues, who are prone to be influenced by shitposting.
>>755709>But seriously, why has 4chan such a bad reputation? Some of it is pretty well deserved. In the early years it used to be full of cp and we kind of embraced that and made it a meme. Then the middle years where /b/ spawned all those raids on competing sites up to DDoSing mainstream sites. Lately we have the issue with the true believers on /pol/ who take their shit way too seriously (unlike anyone sensible who knows nothing on 4chan is more than banter) and with the black-pill incel movement festering on /r9k/. Both ideologies have lead to actual mass killings. We've been concerned about islamists radicalizing youths online and pushing them to do terrorist attacks. It's really not a big leap to apply the same logic to right-wing and misogynist extremism.
It probably boils down to 3 things:
1) 4chan was part of some nasty stuff in the past.
2) It seems unmoderated, because moderation is largely invisible.
3) People can't separate the platform from the individual boards. Nothing about /an/ (and most other boards) deserves to be lumped into "the far-right online community 4chan" (actual local news quote).
>>755722>Because people fear actual discussion with different opinions unlike their echo chambers. The parts of 4chan that contribute the most to its horrible public image are also the most orthodox echo chambers. Try having a serious, open-minded discussion on /pol/ without getting accused of paid shilling within the first 5 responses. They're not even interested in the merrits of an argument anymore, it's just pure tribalism.
