also if you happen to care:
adelaide rosalie hasse, familiarly called adel, is a well bred young lady, deeply formal and somewhat delicate. having spent her life absorbed in academia, she is ill suited to life outside of the cloisters of the idly rich.
whilst in tutorage for bright young nobles in a temple of ioun, adel developed a deep sense of purpose and belonging. although ioun is heavily associated with arcane lore, she is also the patron of libraries and the circulation of ideas. this was adel's focus, and her work studying and restoring venerable literature gradually became a devotional act to the mistress of the quill.
after being disinherited by her family for repeatedly refusing to be married off, she set off with naught but her ink and quills, a case of blank vellum, and the clothes on her back. the temple priests quietly anointed her into the church, as her divine connection was genuine, but could not render further aid without political risk.
an inexperienced adventurer to say the least, adel abhors physical violence. she will flee or cower and die if under personal attack. she does not lack courage, and will risk herself and use disruptive magics in battle, but she has compassion even for her foes (excepting servants of venca).
she hopes one day to find work as a scribe for someone in a great position of power, then leverage that position to be a patron of literature in ioun's name. she supposes the best way to do that is to simply trust in ioun and put one foot in front of the other until the words come to her. they always have in the past.
