It'll work, but you could do so much more with $650 burger tickets.

You can even play recent vidyas with it. Swap the RX 570 for a GTX 1050 Super if you prefer Nvidia.

Duh.

* to be fair, the paucity of reasonably-priced retailers in the USA is a blessing here. Do this in europe and you'll be buying from 4-7 different shops, and having to weigh up the cost of yet another load of shipping vs paying more for the part to someone you're already buying from.

If you're just going to surf the web and not do anything intensive, getting a desktop is kind of dumb. Just get a laptop for the portability, and if you do wish to sit down at like an office desk space, buy one or two monitors, and a keyboard, and simply set your laptop down and connect an HDMI cord to the monitors from the laptop and now its basically a desktop. Except you can unplug it and take it with you. Desktop towers are best suited for people that

1. already own a laptop
2. need to do resource intensive tasks like video rendering and gaming

Not if you're only going to play previous gen games Oblivion and Fallout 3. Video cards last about 5 years before becoming obsolete for brand new AAA games and CPUs can last for quite a long time if the game isn't CPU-dependent. The 12 year old E8400 I gave my dad still runs Tropico 6 (which was only released last year) because that game mostly depends on the video card (a GTX 950, which is the only part made after 2008 in the PC. I got it for free when I RMA'd the original GTX 260 that it had. Thank you based EVGA).

Not for games like Oblivion or Fallout 3, no. A laptop with an i5-8400H or i5-9400H processor will actually play games almost exactly the same as the desktop you posted, because it will have the same onboard graphics and a roughly-similar processor. The obvious proviso is if you do decide to get a graphics card, you need to either get a Thunderbolt enclosure (if your laptop has a Thunderbolt port) or a new laptop (if it doesn't).

You can actually get USB3/USBC/Thunderbolt docks now, so you can dock multiple monitors, wired network, your keyboard, your mouse (and on Thunderbolt a desktop GPU) with a single USB lead. It's pretty damn cool.

I got Destiny 2 running playably on an E5450 and a 1030. It would actually perform well with pic-related in it, because (astonishingly) it is being bottlenecked by the 1030 and not the 3GHz, 12-year-old CPU.
