i found this website dedicated to outlining why the anime series .hack//SIGN sucks. it reads like a rant you would found on the forum. so i started to wonder if there are more old websites with wall of text that look like something you would find on social media today. if you know of such website pleas tell me about it here.

It's mostly Bush-era political things. I don't know how old you are so this may or may not apply to you, but I feel the need to explain the context for these. To the zoomzooms here, shitting on the American political right might sound leftist, but back then public opinion was the opposite of what it was now: neocons were the popular group, the religious right still had considerable stopping power, and Democrats had a reasonable claim to the title of underdog. Political correctness was still in its infancy and drew massive criticism. Had /pol/ been around back then, they would have been worshipping Jon Steward as "our guy" and making anti-Bush image macros (as we called then back then) like these: http://macrochan.org/search.php?tags=George+W.+Bush
At that time, being 'liberal' was the edgy and shocking thing to do.
