i wouldnt trust wish.com generally, but it is marked down a metric shit ton and it doesnt seem to be just for specific items

With the type of business they're running it wouldn't surprise me if 2/3 were either bots or paid reviews.

I have no data to back it up with though, other than previous purchase experience.

You have to ask yourself "is this person qualified to deliver the assessment he's making?". If the review's talking about ease-of-use, or billing, or uptime, or similar, then sure. If it's talking about security, you have to ask yourself "what makes this person qualified to assess the security of a VPN provider?".
