The precent 30% mean literally "30 of every 100". Therefore you have to figure out which of the 1500000 are the 100, that will be only some of them. In fact there are 1499900 left over. But at least you have secured 30 of the 100 that belong to your precent. You have the 1499900 remaining. You have to imagine it like a battle, in each part of the battle you isolate 100 of your enemies and you kill 30 of them, and then you count the dead (ignore the other 70, like, you can push them out over a cliff or something). Or you can have 1499900 virgins, and you take 100 of them and, well never mind. But I digress. Anyway you go on from 1499900 to 1499800 to 1499700 to 1499600 to 1499500, and I do not want to get repetitive, but that is the essential idea. Hope it helps to solve your hw.
