Pretty sure you can disable anything. You can also try isolating the filter part of the script and just running that.

There are some things that can't be made to function like the normal site. I'll just have to deal with it since I wrote this using 4chan-x, hope it doesn't do anything weird with my browsing and post history. I don't really know much about all that code stuff.
