I know right?
I was thinking that I was wrong and that there was some way to figure this out, given that I always check if I'm correct and try to find out how they got to the answer. But this fucking problem, along with some others just made me question their competence.

It took me a while but it's just idiotic wording made to trick people.

The truck travels 50% of the time at 40 kmh, then 50% of the time at 80.0 kmh.
The car travels 50% of the _distance_ at 40.0kmh, then 50% of the distance at 80.0 kmh.
The car thus spends 2/3rd of the time at 40 kmh and 1/3rd of the time at 80.0 kmh
This means the truck will be there faster.
