>>862000This is the only post in the thread that I can agree with. There have been plenty of other good anime listed, but I didn't feel what OP has described after watching them, although Gurren Lagann is close.
In that same vein, I recommend Revolutionary Girl Utena. Watch the show and then watch the movie after an interval of digestion. Technically you can watch the movie first, but you won't be able to enjoy it as much and one large plot point will be spoiled.
