Looking for anime recs. I love the art style but all the random outbursts of emotion and blushing/stilted social interaction are kind of off-putting. Really enjoyed all the ghibli films, your name was pretty good too although it was pushing the envelope a bit for me. Not really sure where to go next. Thanks so much, sorry if this offended anyone.

No problem. Forgot to include Giant Gorg although that one has a semi-comic relief dog in an otherwise pulpy adventure series. Big O is also a solid choice I forgot. Enjoy!

Alright, buckle down, have I got the best anime for you. Mind you, I did a fuck ton of research and saw and dropped a lot of anime to get this knowledge, but it basically all comes down to personal taste. Here are my must see anime:
>All 3 Berserk movies
>Hunter x Hunter
>Attack on Titan
These 3 above are tremendous stories with a very expansive Universe to them. Think of them like big adventure mystery types that are very creative and unique.
>Parasyte the Maxim
>Steins;Gate + Steins;Gate Zero
>Re:Zero
These 3 series are more compact stories. You will not find big and detailed Universe like the first 3, but this is why they are so charming. These 3 may just have the most soul and care in them from all the anime I have ever seen. Deeply personal stories with very realistic characters that you will grow to adore.

Those 6 above are the absolute cream, I recommend starting the more personal ones (last 3) before the 3 big ones.

Next are anime that are phenomenal, but I'm just too lazy to explain them in detail for now. Here they are in no particular order:

>Goblin Slayer
>The Promised Neverland
>Mob Psycho
>Vinland Saga
>Jojo's Bizzare Adventure
>Death Note

The rest of the list is fine hut Mob Psycho was awful. It's one of the very few anime I ever gave a 1/10.

If you like DN, then you have to watch The Promised Neverland after it, if you're not burned out by this genre.
I think Death Note's soundtrack may be my favorite out of all anime. It's pure genius. The 2 composers are also my favorite musical artists in the anime industry and I instantly can recognize their unique style in other anime like HxH, Kaiji, etc.

Yeah that is the most shit list I have ever seen. And not just because of One Piece in there. Any list without Berserk, HxH and AoT is to be deemed questionable, to say the least.

You're right. Berserk (2016) should probably be added to CGI usage.

Agree with these guys, I'd also recommend:

Patlabor (same director as GitS and Jin-Roh, start with Early Days OVAs and then movies 1 and 2)

Millennium Actress (same director as Perfect Blue/Paprika)

Mamoru Hosoda's stuff: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children. Sort of like Your Name with a bit more fun and a bit less melodrama.

If you're okay with manga then try Pluto
