Few days back, my PC got infected with a ransomware. I managed to kill it and restore the system to an earlier point. And all is fine there.

However, it seems that my external HD caught some bad, and I'm currently stuck with several hundred encrypted files that seemingly cannot be fixed. Since the external was literally just pulled out of a dead PC (system is still on it), I was wondering if it would be possible to do a system restore on it somehow. I'd really hate to lose all the files I have there.
