>>880457/a/'s stance on streaming has not changed from the early days of the board (2003 onward) when pirate streams were notoriously shitty quality. You downloaded anime via XDCC or torrents, or you got trolled off the board. This attitude persists despite modern streams being such good quality that most of /a/ watches torrented stream rips rather than fansubbed TV raws (mostly because hardly anybody does fansubbed TV raws these days while everything on CR and Funimation is ripped by Horriblesubs and other stream rippers within minutes of it being uploaded).
It used to be torrenting anime was a necessity to get good quality, but anymore it's mostly a status thing. Only lazy and stupid casuals stream anime, so says /a/. Don't ask me what a "casual" is, it varies depending on who you ask. Some say you have to have watched at least 100 anime, some say 300 anime, some say a minimum number plus a few specific "classic" series. Generally everybody agrees though that only casuals stream.
>>880445/a/ adheres to a lot of old school 4chan culture. Namely there's lots of unwritten rules to the board. If you run afoul of these it's your fault for not adhering to the first unwritten rule: lurk more. Any and all questions you have can likely be answered by just lurking various threads and doing some googling. /a/ hates newfags more than almost any other board on this site, and certainly more than any of the other big blue boards. It's one of the only boards where you can still get banned for outing yourself as a newfag, which is what happened to you.
