I have a version of Age of Empires Rise of Rome provided by PDM, however it seems like some files for movies and audio are missing, plus images have versions for higher resolutions. Can you help me find a fix for this?

Here, just take the whole game (AOE1+ROR) since it's so tiny. You must have directplay installed if on Windows 10 but it should prompt you to install it. Open EMPIRES.bat for the original game or EMPIRESX.bat for the expansion. It will kill explorer.exe to prevent in-game corruption, press enter after exiting the game to restart explorer. Try https://github.com/Macuyiko/palettestealer-suspender if this method is too crude for you.

What is that in-game corruption you are talking about? Never heard of it.
Also retail CD copy is way better, I can find the no-CD cracked exe on copygamesworld.

Colors will be fucked on versions of Windows past XP for Windows reasons.
