consider using youtube-dl itself. it's available for windows: https://youtube-dl.org/
I just tested this rn and it worked for me:

there isn't much to "learn" really. you just write "youtube-dl" and then the url of the video you want to download. by default it will automatically select the highest quality available.

Youtube-dl got DMCA'd. Any host would have done the same thing, because the only way to remain neutral (and therefore unsued) in a DMCA action is to pull the content and forward the DMCA complaint.
