I just got a call and some indian sounding guy on the other line told me he was a police detective with evidence that there had been "red flags" on my record regarding multiple bank accounts being used to buy a Jeep Cherokee under my name. When I first got the voice mail from the caller it was an automated woman's voice telling me similar things (red flags under record) and to call back immediately. Checked my email and haven't received anything.
Now that I write this out it sounds more and more like a scam with every word but I just want to find out how there's a way I can make sure on my own if and when this kind of scam call happens to me again?
