i keep getting "connection was reset" errors, in firefox and IE. is it just me, or is it borked?

about an hour ago when i first tried, Avast came up with an alert about some javascript threat, and i haven't been able to access it since then. i've gone through Avast's ... system, i guess you could call it, looking for anything about blocked pages, but i can't see anything immediately.
