Requesting books/blogs/sites/ general materials that will teach me how to make friends, preferably online friends but stuff geared towards real life is okay too.

You should just give up. If you can't make friends automatically on your own, you probably have some mild form of autism and no book/blog/site can help you. The sooner you quit the more pain you'll save yourself.

Yeah. You could also try irc channels or chatrooms too. Rizon's where a lot of anons and anime nerds hangout. Forums aren't all that popular anymore, unfortunately.
