Can you commit suicide by biting your tongue, and swallowing it?
To test this, I tried biting my tongue (quite strongly), but the best I can do is a bit of pain (not even blood). My guess is that even if I managed to bite through, a part would just fall off my mouth, and the other would remain inside, bleeding. So I supposed that I'd have to choke on the part of the tongue that has fallen off my mouth. To do this, I'd have to grab it with my hand and put it in my mouth.
Those are the problems I have noted with this method:
1. Biting your tongue off would take a while, and people would realise that you are doing it, and stop you from it (here I assume that the only reason why would someone bite off their tongue, would be to escape some worse fate)
2. Since in a situation where there's any point in doing it, your hands would probably be binded, getting that part of the tongue that has fallen off in your mouth, would be impossible. Can you guys think of any way to do this when both your legs and hands are binded, and you are sitting (unable to stand up)?
