>>944921As far as what to pursue, find what calls to you. The quality that I value the most in my team is the passion that they share for what they do. A smart person forcing themselves to do something they don't care about, or want to be doing, will never lead to the types of results we are looking for. People have to care about what they are doing. A dedicated and passionate person can make any skill a success. So just ask yourself what you would be most fulfilled doing every day. Would working in a QC lab to analyze compounds be fulfilling to you? Go for analytical chemistry. Would working in a synthesis lab to make new compounds be more fun? Go organic chemistry. Would studying the effects of various substances in animals/humans be more your style? Go biochemistry. In the end, your passion for what you, and the willingness to make it a reality, will be the most crucial.
