Problem is, i haven't seen enough to even know. I did like nichijou and I liked the lightheartedness and the fact that it essentially was about nothing and everyone went apeshit over nothing al the time. If I had to guess, I'd probably prefer that over darker stuff.

There's tons of anime, just sample some stuff.

There's a male version of nichijou called Nichibros is very similar and some people like it more than nichijou.

Also as the previous comment said most people start (get hooked) with Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion

This is a pretty standard list for entry-level anime that's not shonen. I'll vouch for the ones I've seen: Bebop, Mushishi, Kaiji, and Azumanga

Obviously I don't suggest anybody watches ALL of this or anything. But I've watched a shitload of the early episodes and it's just good, short Holmes-style detective stories. Don't expect overarching plot.

You should try using myanimelist.net and make an account there. It's the biggest database of anime and manga there. You can check out the top anime and manga there. You can get recommendations there based on what you watched. A pretty good way to start. For me, I'll recommend Shingeki no Kyojin. The show is phenomenal. The final season is currently airing. Also watch Kaguya-sama: Love is war and Non Non Biyori (cute girls living in the countryside)

If you like comedy and slice of life, here's a couple I really enjoyed myself.

It's a lighthearted, wacky isekai that makes fun of the genre. I think you'd really like this.

My favorite SoL bar none, but it's got a pretty dark tone.

>Majo no Tabitabi
A pretty recent show about a witch traveling to different places in a world of fantasy. It's really comfy.

>Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
It's a hotblooded mech anime, but if you like when people go way over the top constantly, there's not a lot shows that top this.

A bit of an acquired taste, but I feel like it's my duty to at least shill for Symphogear a little bit. You might like it, who knows!

Everyone gave pretty good suggestions, so I'll give one that doesn't make a lot of lists because sometimes it says a bit too much about who you are if you add it. Look into an anime called Watamote. Tomoko used to be /a/'s patron saint for a long while, and /a/ single handedly saved the manga from being cancelled by making it popular overseas. Tomoko was the original spagheti-chan, and the artist recognized and immortalized it in one of the volumes

Do you not consume any kind of media? No TV? No movies? No games? Books? What genres do you like? Anime has a very wide selection of genres. I could recommend you like 30 anime just from the comedy genre.

You might like Hyouka. It's a mystery series, technically, but the MC is a brooding loner with plenty of adolescent angst that causes him to try to affect a depressed, melancholy air, but he gets dragged into solving mysteries around school by a pretty girl that he can't help falling for. It's only got one season and it doesn't resolve anything though, but still a fairly nice anime. Very good production values, as expected of Kyoto Animation.

Speaking of KyoAni, you might aslo like Koe no Katachi, which was a movie they did. The manga is also highly recommended but if you'd rather watch than read, the film is great.

I don't watch a whole lot of teen dramas so somebody else can probably give you a bunch more. I know of titles in that genre, but haven't watched them. At best I could give you a short list of stuff to check out on your own.
