Software for grading PDFs

This semester I will be grading students homework for a class, whats a good software for putting notes on pdfs so I can mark them right/wrong and leave notes?

NitroPDF has a lot features for editing pdfs but is not free. also PDFs were made for people who didn't want their documents modified.

this. would it be possible to convert them to JPEGs or some image format before leaving the grades? you could convert them back to PDF afterwards if you didn't mind losing the plain text data.

I faced this problem too. good convector, all the time there were some problems with use. I tried a lot of programs and settled on https://www.coolutils.com. As for me, the ideal convection program, excellent interface, reasonable price.

Acrobat lets you annotate PDFs.
Most Free, or free, PDF tools let you annotate them as well.

The simplest solution: Open the PDFs in Word, do your edits, then export as PDF again.

Most people don't realize that at least since version 2013 Word can convert PDFs on the fly.
