Definitely check out Divinity 2.

As for shows, check out picrel and look at the fantasy or mecha ones, like The Vision of Escaflowne, Hunter x Hunter and One Piece. Or Trigun, just anything that takes place in another world really.

Seconding this, there are a ton of discworld novels; there are guides out there about which order you can read them in, like picrel.
I personally really like the Watch Novels.

There is an AppGame called Alter Ego that also has some nice book recommendations in it and gives you quotes and some resons to read them. Mostly older reknown novels, but after you finish the game, also newer books. https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/alter-ego It recommends Solaris from Stanislaw Lem but I'd personally recommend The Star Diaries.

You could also start playing some Tabletop RPGs, there are always groups you can join for that. There are a ton of these games out there, encompassing every genre and some don't even require a gm

i read a lot of fantasy and these 2 series in particular stood out to me as memorable for having worlds that I got lost in. I'm surprised they never got more popularity while things like the dark tower/ malazan/ game of thrones/ even fucking harry potter all did
