Later on you'll make your own cooking with the options & keywords the more experienced you become. There isn't a magical formula per say, but once you lurked long enough you start to identify some patterns and it become easier to find deals others users didn't notice (that's where the best deals are made). It may include key words you never thought about, targeting the description rather than the titles, a specific geographic location, various subcategories, going after newly listed items rather than ending soon...
Don't hesitate to save all kind of prefered searches settings (it's done in a click with the blue heart) and SAVE your favorite sellers too. Few are true golden gooses who shart up .999 eggs on a weekly.
My post may sound a bit cryptic since you aren't familiar with the platform yet, but to keep it simple treat fleabay as 4chin when you started : Lurk 200 more years + train your eyes to filter the shitpost away (98%). It will come naturally, just lurk first.
Any coin you don't know about, you go to numista to check it out. The first few months i made myself pen and paper sheets with popular coins and every year of interest for each to help me memorize it, and it was faster than jewgling it.
