Tldr: historical silver numbers changed... twice! And nobody caught it until now. Basically said SILVER demand fell but in reality India bought more silver first quarter of 2024 than all of 2023 combined. And that's not even counting China which even citizens are hoarding now. Because of these fudged numbers nobody will know when silver runs out until it does.

So I don't need to tell you guys this but STACK SILVER. As much as you can! Forget decoupled from gold, this will be like a 0.1:1 ratio. Silver is literally running out. Silver Eagle development was told to be as minimal as possible to avoid unwanted attention. They wanted to halt it for a year, these bastards! Now you know how bad it is and you read it here first. We are walking a very narrow line unfortunately in the west. Nobody I know stacks. I practically begged my family and not one listened. I mentioned it to people I worked with casually not some schizo stuff but said something along the lines of silver and gold are heavily suppressed when they talked about market manipulation. Even in /smg/ few people quite understand what's happening. This is ever exciting but also scary. I wished for everyone on here (4chan) to make it but it dawned on me very few hold physical. That anon who said in hindsight it will look like the pieces will fall into place once it all comes down and it will obviously be silver as an answer to everything. But I take solace knowing that at least I am protected and we do have people that know the trutb albeit very few.

/pmg/ has never had enough organic interest to stay on the board. The thread is and always has been about 80% trolls, fud, /pol/, and off topic posting.

getting rid of the trolls kills the thread, even if you don't split it.

as to why the trolls aren't shredding this thread here on /bant/, I'd guess it's because they're out of their element, or moving to /bant/ took the fun out of it. All of them are present and accounted for except IQDELET. But none of them is starting shit in the thread. Losing IQDELET alone cuts post speed almost in half.

and this isn't new. Moot tried to turn the site into reddit by getting rid of /new/ so he could monetize it. What's going on right now is just a repeat of what's been happening since at least 2010. Owner attempts to clean up the site so they can make moneys. Cleaning up the site kills it. It's a problem.

I think ebay sets the payment time, not the seller. If you ignore their payment demands you have something like 30 days to pay in real life before they cancel the sale. But ebay gets really demanding about it.

Remind me of a situation i'm currently dealing with. A new seller put on auction a bunch of pretty rare coins at a very interesting starting price (to me at least), but he mixed up the description with the title so they didn't get all the intention he desired (on top of having the auction begin and end at 2 AM on week days).

After a week i end up winning all 8 coins i bid upon, and i then ask a bill because shipping for each coin (who are very tiny, not weighting more than 3gr/ea) is fixed at 5€.

He first said he didn't put any of the coins on auction (as if ebay magically listed his coins kek), then that he didn't want to and finally that he wanted to put a bigger starting price. Obviously wasn't very happy about the final price. But i remain very polite because i really want the coins.
All i ask him is to refund me the extra shipping fees (40€ for 8 coins who could fit in a 2€ tracked envelop) and he mumble he can't find the option. So i hold his hand and screencap step by step how to proceed.
Since i started to become a bit wary about the guy, i only paid for 4 of the coins, the most expensives ones so i wouldn't get too fucked by shipping fees.

After 2 weeks of total silence i finally received my 4 coins, flying with no protection in a 2€ stamped envelop (not even a bubble one) even though i paid 20€ of shipping fees..
I sent him several messages about my refund, but he's playing dead.

Overall i still am very happy about my purchase, because the coins proved to be genuine (was my biggest concern, considering the behavior and name -abdul- of the seller). But i'm very tempted to leave a quadruple bad evaluation for the overall experience. Thing is, i still have 4 coins left unpaid that i wont pay since the shipping fees are as expensive as the coins' value, and idk if he can retaliate by giving me back bad evaluations for not paying up (even tho i don't pay because he refuse to edit a bill)?

I suggest they might have recruited a handful more jannies to police the worst of it during the nightime hours though. I wouldn't want to be a janny, but I'm awake when the apparently one janny was sleeping and could've at least knocked down the child porn without having to wake anyone up. Mods were quick to respond, but usually only after reports came in. Sometimes stuff stayed up for longer than it should've.

I dunno, none of my business really. But I feel like this could be avoided. It does however seem to be working, but at the expense of traffic.

Making poor and terrible assumptions via online inflation calculator but let's say the typical competent physical laborer would cost between between 2-3k while a house servant might be more, maybe upwards to 7 or 9k.
With current price of silver you're probably looking at spending between roughly 110 to 325 Oz of silver for a slave.

I think currently the cap on small biz in the US is about $54 million per year in annual revenues, and that's because anything below that just isn't worth the bother for larger companies. It's the table scraps that nobody wants to deal with. All the laws and regulations of big biz, but none of the money.

All the people i know -my father included- who opened a business and eventually ended up abandonning told me this exact phrase you just posted. They loved what they were doing, they put all their energy and soul to make it work, often investing all their savings and more in the process. But in the end it never seems worth it when you spend more time trying to please the government than do your actual job. To then give them back over half of what you earned. All what remain is a profound disgust for this kafkaian dystopia.

That's exactly why i never declared a single revenue and play in the dark. I'd rather stay a very small fish but never have to deal with these leeches. I don't have the mental fortitude nor the patience to deal with all this paper pushing retardness.

what that means for someone minting coins as a large business, they would want to NET billions. And to net billions they need to GROSS hundreds of billions. And the market may simply not be big enough.

best bet is to farm it out to a mint in the private sector who makes their money selling to lots of different countries, because they can get those kinds of sales across multiple countries even where one individual country can't.

As to why Japan doesn't do this, IDK. Maybe someday they will. Not sure if they're super proud of anime or if they want to worry about buying the copyrights to a bunch of different waifus. Or if the market is big enough and rich enough to support that kind of thing. But I do know they're not interested in making millions. Almost nobody is anymore.

If I have something to sell for $25 I have to charge $100 because $75 is going right back to the government in taxes and time spent on red tape. If I work for one hour I have to charge for four because after I do my hour of work I now have an hour of paperwork and 2 hours worth of taxes.

Idk if it made it in the US news, but our farmers over here are in general strike for several months now, blockading highways in direction to Paris with their tractors for this very reason. They are so sick of all the regulations concerning literally every single thing they do (must test their soil & water every week, fill hundreds of pages of bullshit anytime they want to use this pesticide or that fertilizer, zoning permits, cattles permits, vax permits, tractors permits, gas permits, filters permits...) they simply can't do it anymore. And most people they employ, their wives included, are pushing paper rather than being in the farm harvesting crops. For each farmer in the field you have 2 people doing the paperwork, it's beyond insanity.

And in France we are the n°1 worldwide when it comes to invent regulations to prevent people from working, that may be the only thing in which we still are n°1 (with taxation of course).

Like even the US market is probably glutted. The US Mint sells billions of ASE's, but then they make a bunch of other coins every year that barely sell. Maybe millions of units sold for some of the weirder stuff. Maybe less than that for the gold coins. The market isn't large even here with boomers collecting the hell out of bullion coins.
Compared to numismatics in general, moderns and bullion issues serve a very niche market.

This is basically what I do. I started off as a contractor, but now I work in business administration for other contractors. I get the job, handle the red tape bullshit, and collect my 30% off the top while they do the actual work. It's absurd. Technically I'm a "prime contractor," but in reality I just jump through government hoops all day while real people do actual work.
Which makes me a useless middle-man, and a parasite on par with the government, but I resigned myself to that role a very long time ago. I don't love it, but somebody has to do it. There's no reason on earth I should have that job, or that it should even be a job.

You think? I must say i have zero clue about the ratio of numismatists who collect modern VS old/ancient.
Let say "modern" encompass anything produced less than 50 years ago, what would be the % of numismatists collecting those versus "old" (1500-1900) VS "ancient" (-600BC -1500AD) to your opinion?
I know it's a hard question to answer, but simply tell me compared to your own experience.

Over here on /pmg/ modern stuff surely is the most popular, but we aren't really a numismatic general either so it's a bit (a lot) flawed.

there's a lot of overlap, people who collect ancients here also probably collect bullion and modern coins and maybe foreign coins. But most collectors aren't big into any of those things.

/pmg/ is a good reflection of the stacker community and the US has a lot of stackers. But they're probably less than 10% of coin collectors.

There is a bit of patriotic-collecting over here, but it's definitely not that big. Personally even if i like frog coinage a lot, i like german, spanish and italian old coins just as much.
