>>15959577Right, it's an irrational fear. As long as you think about it with a clear mind, you can obviously figure that needles won't seriously hurt you, or anything. But when it comes down to it, your seemingly engraved fear just takes over and makes you nope out. You can make it somewhat easier by being rational about it, but it just never fully goes away in your nature. Compare it to people being afraid of insects, or rats, I suppose. They know they're not going to get hurt, and that the thing they're afraid of is more scared than they are. But they still can't help getting frightened by them. I'm guilty of this, so, maybe it's just another projection, although I think it's common.
Hell, even bears get scared away mere humans, in some cases. For what reason should a bear fear a human? None at all. But it's still possible to make them.
Of course, what gives us the edge is our thinking ability, but that shows just how much of a part our nature plays, sometimes it's so strong that no amount of rationale can truly get you comfortable with whatever you're afraid of.
So, yeah, it's likely just my hate of stinging pain in particular. I can't handle even a little poke, so, a needle is pretty much my worst nightmare.
I suppose it's okay, I mean, if I weren't afraid of needles, then I would've gotten the vaccine. These irrational fears can sometimes help, no?
>>15959581Just what is so interesting about horses racing? Why not watch really fast cars go, instead? What's the appeal of it, other than the betting? It's not like it has anything more to do than which horse has the best genetics to run faster, as long as it's taken care of properly. Or maybe it's truly something random? Even if its, who cares? It's just horses running forward. Watch NASCAR instead, because at least with that you get to watch a big car wreck every once in a while. With horse racing, what, you're going to watch some horse sprain it's ankle? That's just cruel. Damn.
Also, no idea what I expected.
