>>16557521At least, the prod stick still deals enough damage to not have the same issues present. (Except for when the hitboxes mess up with it as well. Which will get you killed if you're going up against a Commando, because they don't get stunned by the prod, they only have damage dealt to them by it. Which is usually enough for a one-shot if you're in stealth, but otherwise it can get up to 3 or so hits, even at max everything. Pretty messed up, it's either a death-sentence or a huge waste of prod charges, which is kind of a problem because you can only stack 9 clips of those. It's not a very big risk of it happening, but you'll have a huge problem with large-HP enemies if you do run out of charges.)
It's also really satisfying to put down MiBs and whatnot with the stick, so, that counts for something.
If only it were as satisfying to stun mobs of enemies with it. Which sounds great at first, since you can run up to and stun a bunch of enemies in a single shot, but in reality it just puts you in a dire situation. Because doing that leaves you with the non-choice of having to use the baton after to put them down. Which is bad, because how stuns work is that if you hit an enemy whose stunned and don't take them down, they'll get unstunned.
And since you can't deal the stealth multiplier if they're stunned, most of the time you just don't do enough damage with the baton to take them down, and they start running. That is if you get lucky. In other occasions they just shoot you in the face the instant you try to finish them off with the baton. (Happens way more often with gas stuns if you're untrained.)
Now that I think about it, I guess that doesn't really matter if you're using anything other than the baton, because anything else will definitely inflict enough damage to kill, but that's just not a choice if you're going non-lethal. (Which is fun. Kinda.)
