If Israel were to build a third temple it would immediately alert everyone that the person they bring forward is the anti-Christ.
This post I wrote explains my belief on it. Corinthians says that the man of perdition will "sit in the temple and proclaim himself to be God" - I believe this is what people have always referred to as Project Bluebeam - beaming a message directly into people's skull that would appear to be from God himself. The temple is you, since we see mentioned twice that YOU are a temple for the holy spirit.
