There is a fundamental difference between believing they are the divine and that they part of the divine therefore they lead towards the Divine, especially when it's a image that correlates to morality, beauty and aesthetic and drives people towards good deeds therefore the words of Christ. See why it's a guidance and not really God itself. If the images were God themselves, there would be no reason to believe in transcendentalism or even the Bible
