In biology, there is a notion of "genotype", which is the all of your genes, and "phenotype", which are the observable traits.
Normally, since you have an equal amount of chromosomes, phenotype and genotype are highly correlated. However, in the cases of excess chromosomes, one of the chromosomes is disabled effectively at random, resulting in a mosaic phenotype.
