If you used to be a loser in HS, then you have literally suffered years of loneliness, sadness, anger, frustration etc. That will never truly go away. It has shaped your personality and view of the world ineffably. What you've done is you've worked really hard to "git gud" and you've realized that it wasn't really worth it. All you got was a mundane "normal life" and life will never be that fun for you.
Imagine if when you were growing up it seemed things couldn't get better, and they just kept getting better month after month, year after year. Better and better experiences, leading to more positive emotion and motivation, carrying over to even better experiences, etc. Some people do get to experience that.
That wasn't your life. That wasn't my life. Sucks, but it's true.
