The tide is slowly turning against the climate change activists as people realize the price and as information about much of the junk or biased pseudoscience behind it leaks out. If thermal coal can hang on another decades, or perhaps even less, in the Western World, then I think it could see a partial revival, and the coal-fired power plants that survived the Merciless Green Onslaught of this era will be allowed to continue doing their thing and providing us with inexpensive, reliable electric energy.
I think if the West returned to coal -- and nuclear too -- we'd see an economic renaissance and, with that, a sociocultural renaissance, since so much of people's lack of motivation is caused by bad economic conditions, and cheap energy would be a boon to the economy that truly lifts all boats.
So let's advocate for thermal coal, fren. It's good for what ails us as a society.
