I have kilos of nice silver jewelry I got cheap tucked away (picrel bag one of several) and have also sold numerous things for many times their melt value, if you have the right mind and eye for it and know how to source it efficiently then it's a good way to diversify one's stack. If you're not already good at it though you'll probably be better off just stacking cheap generic bullion, it doesn't require much brainpower to do that.
