I think back in the day we had this idea that fiat had produced great wealth, and it had. But there's a sweet spot where it works well, and we're long past that sweet spot now.
It really didn't last long, but it's a big part of the reason US boomers at least did so well and had it so easy. People just don't understand that what worked 50 years ago might be catastrophic now. But they'll learn. They're learning.
