>>20017237THe match was everything she had hoped for. Fast, intense, hard-hitting. Maybe a little too hard-hitting; Mare Equine kicked like..... well, like a horse. Colby Jefferson had studied Mare's B1 matches and big performances against Jade Thorn, and the hype she'd put on this match was real: Mare Equine was one of the best of the best in the WWA, and she'd proven it time and time again. It as all Colby could do at times to keep up, and many times she was reminded of the days last summer when she had fought Mare Equine and Warhorse, more often than not to a loss. When she locks in the Colby Clutch again and feels Mare Equine fading, the spike of triumph hits her like elation, washing over her battered body. She doesn't dare to release the hold until the bell rings, confirming her victory.
The referee is raising her hand. Colby Jefferson holds her hands up in triumph, takes a step forward, falls to her knees. Her chest rises and falls. She stays on her knees for a few moments, then raises up again, dizzy and hurting from the offense she's endured.
Mare Equine IS one of the very best. And Colby Jefferson has managed to triumph against her. Her confidence, which had been shaken by the hard-fought loss to Kelly Omega, begins to knit and grow within her. This was a great match against a great opponent, and it is a great victory.
Colby Jefferson looks at Mare Equine and nods her head in respect with a faint, breathless smile. Not too long, now; she can't be seen as going soft. After all, she will have to trade on this victory for all of its considerable worth. But as she leaves the ring, she can't fully contain her regard for the worthy opponent whose team defeated her last summer multiple times, and who had singly accepted her challenge and taken her to the limit tonight.
