For clarity, start with your base stealth and give yourself either negative tragic things that would inevitably drive your backstory (like parents dying or something) or things like kryptonite for Superman in accordance to how much of a boost you get. So... maybe your dog dies so that you can become physically fit and trained in martial arts, or you stub your toe and can do something trivial, like turn your thumb blue, or something dumb like that. Or, you could become deathly allergic to something and gain simple powers. Fill in the blanks yourself.
