If she's paying for decent internet, then maybe the router is shit from her ISP and she can upgrade it or there's interference of some kind and they just need the router in a less retarded spot. I think she's better off plugging in something with Ethernet, run a few speed tests, and at least get a baseline before she buys the meme powerline adapter.
