>>15131540Personally I like the Berean Study Bible in english, its clear cut without being dry to read, and also gives you references to other passages that relate as well as giving you differences between the masoretic text, greek septuagint, dead sea scrolls and latin vulgate. Only downside is it misses some books like Maccabees and Tobit which you can read seperatly though.
King James Version is for my taste too bombastic in its poetry and loses some understanding as a result, but maybe that me not being a native speaker of english
Also I would say, when differences arise that the greek septuagint is more trust worthy than the masoretic text.
basically i read the berean study bible, and pay attention to the differences in the manuscripts, and if there actually is some big difference that hold meaning you just need to google further.
However all this being said I believe, when approached with earnesty and desire to understand God that the translations dont matter too much other than maybe the scofield bible and what ever the fuck china is producing. some are just more prone to enable pilpul than others
All I have on Christianity, the teachings, morals, philosophy, law, history, origin etc.
