At the end of the match, Andi sees Robyn being pinned and lurches forward, but the countless punishing slams unleashed by Fury and the rapid takedowns by Miss Cassie Maverick had taken their toll and she finds herself stricken with an intense sensation of vertigo. She clings to the top rope, and it's all she can do not to fall off the apron as the referee counts three.
So this is it.
The Birds of Prey's historic title run has ended.
A second or two later, the vertigo passes, and Andi climbs gingerly in the ring. She kneels by Robyn's side to check on her, gently and slowly helps her to her feet, allowing the new champions time to celebrate and be awarded the titles. Then, slowly, she looks to them and speaks softly without a microphone.
>"Great match. Fury, Maverick, you're the real thing, man. And yeah, losing sucks, but..... uh, you'll meet us again someday, maybe real soon. 'Til then, at least the titles are still in the hands of a great tag team."
Andi steps back and gently touches Robyn's waist. All great things come to an end, but this was not a failure, for once. It was just the close of a chapter of the greatest height of her life. The Birds of Prey would rise again, and with Robyn at her side, Andi Kestrel knew she could take on the world any time.
