If you want the best combo
>go with
minimal shoes
And add either meindl cork insole ($30) or tread labs (lifetime guarantee carbon support with cheap replaceable foam). This gives you a low rise shoe of a few mm at most with some cushion and the cork is good for warmth during winter because the soles radiation is probably freezing.
Vivobarefoot is only good if the side of the sole is stitched on. I prefer the michelin esc soles.
Xero's quality control is iffy, but I like the leather ones. Great soles for the uppers faults.
Freet is decent. Similar to Xero.
Belleville Mini mil is a class. Hate using the laces on them though.
I usually switch out to Sievi during winter (Finnish) or use EVA boots (cheap, but warm) and use the rubber boots with a liner. Steger mukluks makes a great boot for cold conditions and a great wool liner. EVA boots I like are Torvi and Nordman (both Russian). Theres a polish brand if you are a faggot. Just google polish eva boots. Also a chinese brand. Tingley. But doesnt use the liner which you want because you will overheat in the boots and the liner is easy to remove and use as second seconds camping in cold or to dry out overnight.
I prefer Torvi/Nordman because they have a model with rubber insert in sole because EVA foam (croc material) can be punctured. EVA also can shrink if you leave it out in the heat like on the patio. But its a cheap material that you can get several years out of like crocs. Also only weighs like 2 to 3 lbs so lighter than virtually every other boot out there.
