They're currency and the dependencies and risks cannot be ignored. The safest bet for independence and freedom are money without counterparty dependencies or risks IMO.
Tangibility is a factor as well. I have and accept crypto and don't believe it's going anywhere. Benefits are obvious but so are the risks, and the origins of BTC are enough to cause doubt for me.
