Yes, I know... I hear that many of the ones who don't have social media won't even get hired. This, coupled with many of the things which are going on in the world does take away all will for living you might have had left. Besides, what is there to even do nowadays? You just work/study then go home and spend the rest of the day in front of a monitor. I may read and work out and cook and go for walks and do all the meme advice people like to give but none of it is doing that much, something is still missing. But I agree that I would be worse off without these. The fact that so many people, espeically young people, do therapy and whatnot shows that something is definitely wrong. Kaczynski might have been right about that too, it seems...

Well that's what I was saying. They are frustrated, their lives are empty and they want to feel better about themselves. And what other ego boost could be easier to latch on to than this whole thing about staying home and saving lives. The easy way to becoming a "hero", as they don't have to move a single muscle or do anything they weren't doing before this all started.

That's just the beginning, the recession is coming soon and regular folk such as ourselves will struggle with increased prices for everything. But my mom has her own apartment, at least eviction is impossible. See, I don't understand the logic behind preferring to rent over owning property. Seems to me like some marketing ploy and nothing more. Those who would benefit from renting are probably a very small minority.

That's the case everywhere pretty much. The politicians can make as many mistakes as they please and nobody will penalise them for it. Still, shouldn't totalitarianism be a bigger threat? What good is money for if you've got no freedoms anymore? Hell, what good is existence for? Living solely to do as you're told is not living at all.

I don't really pay attention to that sort of stuff, but it's like doing such things in public takes away some of the actual romance of it. As in these should be private acts enjoyed at home where nobody else can see. But many people like to be seen by others. It's like with social media, everybody has to know what they're up to.

Not a bad idea. Worst case scenario they'll only be short stories, but you can still have them work as one novel. I think Faulkner had a book like that but I haven't read it yet.

Yeah, that's the main issue. What you're describing is just a romance novel, while this is supposed to be smut. People are expecting a lot of sex when they pick the latter.
I don't know about not showing enough interest. Such things should be discussed first and if the person in question still feels unloved then they should leave, not cheat.
