This road that he has his place in, it gets closed off to cars by snow once a year. People end up having to rent snowmobiles instead if they wanna get to his shop. Which is handled by some corporation the government hired, so, I'm sure that numerous people's livelihoods depend on it.
Anyway, because of all that, he doesn't get as many sales during the snow. Which is just too much for him to handle, apparently. Even with all the riches that he has already from the eight month a year he gets to run his shop at full capacity in, he still wants his way here.
So, what he made a big deal out of was the government not clearing up the snow. He wanted the company renting out snowmobiles to be ran out of business in the area, so that he could get as many customers as he does without the snow being there.
After bickering the government about this for a long time, the funny thing is that it actually backfired.
He had expanded his shop to a wider area than he was allowed, so, they made him size it back down because he was just being too annoying. That's what got him so pissy and set him off on pulling the stunt.
Shortly after that, he opened up a bunch of social media and started babbling about how he was such a pillar of the community for selling tea at a low price and the government was trying to get rid of him for it. Some time of doing that and calling out officials led to him making that stream saying he was going to burn himself.
For your information, the only reason that he was selling tea at a lower price was because, unlike the tea shops in the city, he wasn't paying any taxes for his one out in the road. That's what allowed him to sell it so cheap. Not anything like the good out of his heart like he made it out to be.
I guess you can figure at this point that he's a pretty scummy dude.
