Reaction images are often posted in reply to another post, wherein the reply consists solely of a greentexted quote from the post in question and a reaction image.Now, take soijack posting... they are greentexted quotes of other Chan users accompanied with a face expressing emotion. To someone we might call a "newfriend", this s a funny meme. "Haha, I am expressing that the individual I'm quoting looks like this caricature!". Well, to us Chan veterans who have been here since the old days, it is a reaction image. The likeness of the person who is responding. When you reply to a post with a soijack, you are telling me that the image represents you. I can't help but stifle a chuckle every time I see it.
